Welcome to the Oxshott & Cobham Music Society
Our new season will begin on Saturday 17 September, with the Ensemble Mirage performing clarinet quintets, and run through to March 2023. Browse our programme pages for full details of the series of six concerts.
OCMS is a prestigious society devoted to promoting the very best of classical musical performance, from recent graduates to the celebrated stars of the international scene. We offer a variety of chamber music, from solo recitals to string quartets and larger ensembles, with occasional pre-concert talks about the music to be performed.
This coming season - our 81st - we are also excited to be presenting an acclaimed performance in words and music about the life and works of Shostakovich, performed by the Carducci String Quartet and narrator Stephen Johnson (BBC broadcaster). This will be on 15 October and we expect it to attract a large audience. Special rates are available for students and their teachers.
On 4 February 2023 we will welcome back the young American pianist Eric Lu, winner of the first prize at the Leeds International Piano Competition 2018. The Mithras Piano Trio, BBC New Generation Artists and international prizewinners who opened our Mini Festival in September 2021, will provide the finale for this season with trios including Dvořák's ""Dumky"".
We have a truly enticing list of highly-talented musicians who will present a varied concert series that includes classical, romantic and some twentieth-century works.
All concerts are held in Holy Trinity Church, Claygate, Surrey, which has excellent acoustics, comfortable seating and easy parking. Buses stop outside the adjacent village hall and the mainline station is about 10 minutes' walk away.
Membership provides free entry to every concert and a substantial saving on ticket prices. Join before 1 September and the fee is reduced!
