Talks

Talks about composers, interesting features in the compositions to be heard, or helpful introductions to the modern works may take place before a concert. These are usually given by a professional music lecturer. They are free, but there is a retiring collection for voluntary contributions towards the cost (£3 suggested).

20 January 2024: the concert will be preceded by a free half-hour talk by acclaimed investigative writer Orlando Pearson in the hall at 7pm ('Vivaldi – his life, his death, and music’s greatest detective story ')
