Expect an exciting evening of musical contrasts!

As part of their innovative programming, the Trio Klein like to include arrangements of pieces by both classical and 'pop' composers.  Their programme for OCMS includes an arrangement of John Adams' 1986 exciting, minimalist, short orchestral fanfare, Short Ride in a Fast Machine, as well as movements from Bach’s Goldberg Variations arranged for string trio, and the String Trio composed by their namesake, Gideon Klein, which was written in 1944 in Theresienstadt concentration camp.

Trio Klein was formed by three multi-award-winning and critically-acclaimed musicians. Achieving astounding early success, they made their London debut at St James’s Piccadilly in 2018; they now perform extensively in the UK and internationally, and frequently appear on BBC Radio 3.

Violinist Kamila Bydlowska, violist Shiry Rashkovsky and cellist Ella Rundle bring with them a wealth of musical and artistic experience, including numerous international festival engagements such as Prussia Cove Open Chamber Music, disc recordings for NMC and Toccata Classics, and appearances on BBC Radio 4, RAI and New York’s WQXR. Last season saw their Maltese debut and their first tour of Italy was featured on RAI TV. As an ensemble they champion innovative programming, most notably in ‘Trio Klein’s 80s Night’, a groundbreaking concert format which places string trios by Schnittke and Gubaidulina alongside arrangements of John Adams and Duran Duran, and frequently collaborate with other renowned artists, most recently with Huw Watkins at Up Close and Musical.
