These exceptional musicians have come together to create a Beethoven concert tour, marking the 200th anniversary of his death in 1827. This will be their only concert in Surrey!

Graduating from the Paris Conservatoire at 16, Philippe Graffin furthered his studies in the USA and Holland. Upon hearing him play at the Kreisler competition in Austria, Yehudi Menuhin invited Graffin to make his debut recording under his baton with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Since then, Graffin has performed on over five continents - from the BBC Proms in London to the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, in Tokyo and Johannesburg, with the St Petersburg Philharmonic and Gothenburg Symphony, and with some of the emblematic musical figures of our time. He has an extensive discography.

Raphael Wallfisch is one of the most recorded classical artists in the world. A BBC survey named his recording of Dvořák's Cello Concerto the best recording of the work in the past 25 years.

Since winning the Cassadó International Competition in Florence at the age of 24, Wallfisch has enjoyed a global career, much loved in his home country where he has forged close relationships with orchestras including the London Symphony, London Philharmonic, Philharmonia, BBC Symphony, BBC Philharmonic, Hallé, BBC NOW, Royal Scottish National, BBC Scottish and Royal Liverpool Philharmonic; and respected around the world, working throughout Europe with the Leipzig Gewandhaus, Konzerthausorchester Berlin, WDR Symphony, RAI Torino, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Gulbenkian, Bergen Philharmonic, Gothenburg Symphony, Lahti Symphony and Budapest Festival orchestras, and further afield with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Minnesota Orchestra, Sydney Symphony, New Zealand Symphony and Singapore Symphony. He is one of the world’s most celebrated cellists.

Raphael Wallfisch plays the 1865 Vuillaume 'Ex-Sheremetev' cello.

Simon Callaghan performs internationally as a soloist and chamber musician, in parallel with a highly successful career as a recording artist. A favourite performer at the internationally-renowned Husum Festival of Piano Rarities in Germany, Callaghan’s recent sell-out concert was praised by VAN Magazine as a 'cleverly curated recital full of discoveries' and by the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung as 'technically brilliant'. Callaghan has developed a wide following and appears on a regular basis in the UK’s major concert halls, and on tours to Asia, North America and Europe.

As concerto soloist, he has recently collaborated with the Ulster Orchestra, BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Royal Northern Sinfonia and the Sinfonieorchester St Gallen, with conductors including Jac van Steen, Martin Yates and Martyn Brabbins. Recital partners have included Sheku Kanneh-Mason, Jack Liebeck, Nicholas Daniel, Julian Bliss, Adrian Brendel, Feng Ning, Raphael Wallfisch, Ruth Rogers, Samuel West, Prunella Scales and Timothy West. BBC Young Musician of the Year Finalist Coco Tomita and Callaghan have a successful duo partnership and record releases on Orchid Classics. His distinguished and eclectic discography also includes recordings for Hyperion, Nimbus and Lyrita. He has a strong profile on BBC Radio 3 and on a variety of streaming platforms, his most recent single on Apple Music with Coco Tomita surpassing 1 million streams in the first month of its release.
