This is an additional, tenth concert in our 2021/22 season and will be a fundraising event.

WE REGRET TO ANNOUNCE THAT THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED IN VIEW OF THE CURRENT COVID SITUATION. WE HOPE TO RESCHEDULE IT, POSSIBLY IN SUMMER 2022.

COVID GUIDANCE: Please wear a mask (except for the tea) and observe social distancing as far as possible. We would kindly ask you not to attend if you are feeling unwell.

NB: This is an extra, tenth concert in our 2021/22 80th-anniversary season, for which tickets are a special price and include a tea. There will therefore be a charge for members to attend this concert (at a discounted rate). We kindly request that members also purchase their tickets in advance, via the Membership Secretary (see Contact Us), so that we can plan the catering.

The talented Kyan Quartet are a multinational ensemble of Royal Academy graduates. They were awarded first place in the 2021 RAM Wolfe Wolfinsohn String Quartet Competition and have been selected to take part in the Britten-Pears Young Artists Programme Chamber Music Lab, where they will hold a two-week residency in spring 2022.

The quartet are bound together by a shared love of chamber music and a deep commitment to widening musical participation, and have taken part in various outreach projects through Open Academy. They are also currently 'Quartet in Residence' at St Mary with All Souls, Kilburn.

For our New Year concert they have prepared a lovely programme of works by composers who lived or worked in, or frequently visited, Vienna.

The concert will be followed by a Viennese tea, with a selection of Viennese-style cakes and tea or coffee, commencing at about 4.30pm. This is included in the ticket price. There will also be a raffle for which tickets will be sold and drawn on the day (an OCMS tradition). You are warmly invited to join us for this festive winter-afternoon event.
