Since winning the title of BBC Young Musician 2016, Sheku has acquired many exciting engagements. On the 30 August, this year, he played at the PROMS, and in four days time he will perform tonight's programme to a   SOLD OUT   Kings Place Concert Hall in London. Lined up are concerts with famous orchestras and solo recitals, including the Zurich Tonhalle, the Los Angeles and Netherlands Chamber Orchestras, a Vienna Konzerthaus debut with the Japan Philharmonic, The Lucerne Festival and a tour of Canada.

In tonight's programme he is accompanied by his sister Isata Kanneh-Mason playing the colourful Cassadό  Suite for cello, the contrasting second Beethoven Cello Sonata, and concluding the recital with the sonata in D minor by Sheku's favourite composer, Shostakovich.
