The Rose TrioSat 25th February 2012 The Rose Trio To visit the Rose Trio website click on the photo Suzie Thorn, oboe Becky Thorn, clarinet Tammy Thorn, bassoon and friends Alex Hambleton, horn, and Daniel King-Smith, piano. The Rose Trio, a wind ensemble, won last year's Royal Overseas League Ensemble Prize and also comes to us, highly recommended by the Countess of Munster Charitable Trust. Sisters Becky, Suzie and Tammy have been making music together since Tammy, the youngest, was just 5 years old. They formed the Rose Trio in 2006 when they were all studying in London. Highly talented musicians, they have performed at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, London, and made their Wigmore Hall debut in June, 2011. They are joined by two friends, Alex Hambleton, horn, and pianist Daniel King-Smith for their final item, the Quintet for Piano and Winds, regarded by Mozart as "the best work he ever composed." This concert is in memory of Sheila Hurton, who was Chairman and a committee member of the Society for many years, and who sadly died last year. Programme Mozart : Divertimento No.1.
