This year we have decided to give you a treat, following the precedent set a number of years ago.

We are preceding our annual New Year Party Dinner with a concert. This will commence at 6 pm. and is part of our normal season. Dinner for members and their friends will follow.

Last year, under the auspices of the Aidan Woodcock Charitable Trust, the advanced students specially chosen  to present this concert, completed a week of intense study of major chamber works under the guidance of Arisa Fujita,- professional soloist, member of the Fujita Trio, and professor of violin studies at London's Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

You know from last October’s concert how exciting the first concert of this season was, and now you know what to expect from this event. From their advanced studies, you will have the opportunity to hear two beautiful quartets. I can tell you that the famous Andante will send shivers down your backs! – and, you will be longing to talk about it over your dinner. I think it will be a wonderful night out!

Maiastra - this magical bird made famous by the great Romanian sculptor, Brancusi, is said to have miraculous powers and the gift of restorative song.   By giving this performing name to our chamber music course participants we invite it to preside over our music-making.

Aidan Woodcock - Founder of the Aidan Woodcock Charitable Trust
